Gallardo Successor Previewed

**Updated render from latest of spyphotos

The reign of the Lamborghini Gallardo is coming to an end. With its countless special editions and botox injections over the past 10 years, the last of Gallardo breed bulls, the LP560-4, is nearing the production line finish to make room for something new.

From the spyshots we can tell the new car will have a lot in common with it’s bigger brother, the Aventador. Not a bad idea as the Aventador is immensly popular amongst the more fortunate.

A NEW BREED OF BULL

The supercarmaker from Sant Agatha Bolognese is now in the process of taming a new breed of bull. It is going by a rumored project name “Cabrera” and that’s not  a coincidence.  In line with Lamborghini tradition, the car will be named after a Spanish fighting bull. A long time ago, the Miura bulls were bred with bulls  from the Gallardo bloodline. To improve on the characteristics of these bulls, the Cabrera line was added using cows from another ranch.

The Miura line traces its roots to five historic Spanish bull breeds, namely the Gallardo, Cabrera, Navarra, Veragua, and Vistahermosa-Parladé. Both bloodlines still remain in the Spanish fighting bulls of today. However, the Cabrera name isn’t confirmed by Lamborghini. “Deimos” and “Huracan” are other rumored names that are floating around.

UNDER THE BONNET

Shedding more weight, adding more power, improving dynamics, characteristics and not to forget fuel efficiency. A few main things on the list for the new Lambo addition.

To achieve this, the Lamborghini Cabrera will be powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine similar to the one in the Gallardo.  Evolved, improved and expected to lean towards the 600 horsepower mark, making this the LP-600.

It is also expected that Lamborghini will  finally cut to the chase and fit an all-new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to their latest bull.
