Unskilled & Unfortunate – Top 5

Unskilled or Unfortunate? Can’t handle the horses? License been paid for? Or was it just fate? Well, whatever the reason, we live in a world where in some parts, it’s surrounded by a bunch of pampered and talentless individuals where the saying “take care of your car, and your car will take care of you” does not apply. Below we have listed our top 5 for you. It’s up to you to decide which ones are Unfortunate, and which ones are Unskilled:

1. KID WITH E46 M3 COLLIDES WITH A PILE OF ROCKS

This might have been a matter of skill. Think twice before joyriding a M3 on a road you don’t know.

2. BMW E30 PARKING LOT ‘DRIFTING’ GOES HORRIBLY WRONG

‘Buy an old BMW they said. It will be fun, they said.’

3. RX7 LOSES ALL ITS WHEELS WITH ONE SLIDE

Who tightened those wheels up?

4.  FERRARI’S PIT-STOP FAIL AT LEMANS

Was the Ferrari engineer asleep? Well it’s no surprise, they always screw something up each year anyway! Good ol’ Ferrari.

5.  MERCEDES ELECTRONIC HANDBRAKE + WOMAN

This has probably got to be the funniest car video ever. The poor woman has to deal with her brand new Mercedes-Benz E-Class slipping away, crashing into the wall and getting face-planted by the door.

Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Revealed in Production Film

Combining beauty and the beast. Is this the result?

Mercedes-Benz has released a video showcasing the production line of the new S-Class, giving us an insight into how it is all put together.

That’s all fair enough, but what strikes us is what Mercedes-Benz decided to sneak into the end of the video – an AMG version of the W222 S-Class. The one particularly in question is the S63 AMG which now features an aggressive front end, bigger rims and a chunkier side skirt.

mercedes_benz_s63_amg

So what do you think? Already looks like an absolute beast doesn’t it! As all AMG’s, the badging allows it to shout out from the rooftops that its a beast of a car. Behind the S63 AMG is an ordinary S-Class with the optional AMG Sport Pack; you can immediately tell the difference. Big gaping front vents showcases that this S-Class is packing some punch underneath the hood and it means business!

Speculatively, the new W222 S63 AMG is to gain the same M157 5.5 litre biturbo V8 that you find in most AMG’s these days. It is expected to produce around 557 PS and push around 720Nm of torque. However, this begs a question, is that the peak of what is needed in the real world, or will Mercedes-AMG go that one step ahead to lunacy level and release the S65 AMG which will evidently feature AMG’s M275 6.0 litre V12 that produces over 620hp and has an astonishing 1,000Nm of torque? Time can only tell!

Aston Martin V12 Vantage S

Recently Aston Martin was teasing us with video’s of a new model. And now, yet another Aston Martin Vantage has hit the tarmac. The english automaker seems to be waving the Vantage good-bye with a last addition to the range for the model line.

This time it’s an advanced engineering story told by monumental numbers. 15kg lighter than V12 Vantage. 573PS of power. 620Nm of peak torque. Extreme performance. Extreme styling. A bold new carbon fibre grille marries design and engineering to improve airflow whilst defining a more aggressive front profile. New roof and rear graphics packs. Lightweight forged alloy wheels. All new interior finishes on seats, doors and controls. Never opulent but always dramatic the V12 Vantage S is tailored for a visceral driving experience.

BMW M235i Caught Naked

bmw_m235i

Here it is in all its glory! The all-new M235i coupe; the 135i Coupe’s successor caught undisguised, well, almost.

Many BMW enthusiasts beefed about the F20’s front end with its goofy headlights and dulled nose. The upside? Well, the new M235i has none of that.

Large front air intakes gives the M235i an aggressive stance on the road, which was never really seen on its predecessor. The wheels are from the M135i as well as the blue M Performance brakes. Then we get onto the subject of headlights, many enthusiasts rumored they would be connected to the kidney grilles but in fact, they arn’t!

[nggallery id=31]

Moving onto the side of the car, it now features an M Badge but unfortunately, no air breather vent seen on BMW’s latest models such as the 4 Series Coupe and 3 Series GT. Front and rear quarter panels are also similar to the F20.

As we can see, this M235i features the optional LED headlights which also has squared-off corona rings. The tail lights reminisce the current 1 Series Coupe LCI’s thick floating light bars.

[nggallery id=32]

Although the back remains covered, it will most probably feature split twin black exhaust pipes, a trunk spoiler lip, and a black rear bumper diffuser.

Overall, a great improvement over the E82 1 Series Coupe. Expect the M235i to begin production this November.

BMW Teases Gran Lusso Coupé by Pininfarina

bmw_pininfarina_gran_lusso_coupe_teaser

Some exciting news just in! BMW and Pininfarina have collaborated to debut a new concept called the ‘Gran Lusso Coupé’ at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. The Gran Lusso Coupé has been designed to be the next step forward from the Zagato Coupé. The concepts’ creation boasts many BMW trademarks and fits in perfectly within the BMW family. The long wheel base structure, long nose and most-probably a very powerful V12 engine under the hood makes it look like a revival of the long-gone 8 Series.

BMW have thrown a few teasers around but this still begs one question, is the Ultimate Driving Machine back?

McLaren P1 Showcases Racing Powers

Genuinly wild, just how the P1 is tearing up this circuit! It may not be as loud as the screaming V12’s from Italy, and you could say the twin turbo mutes the noise of the 3.8-liter V8. But this dark and very deep growl suits the P1 just fine. Look closely, and you can see and hear the P1 sucking itself into the tarmac with great downforce.

The McLaren P1 has been testing all over the place after the car was revealed as a concept in Paris 2012. But this is pretty much the first good motion footage of the P1 stretching it’s legs in its very own habitat.

Porsche 991 GT3 Cup Action!

This is the brand new 2014 Porsche 991 GT3 CUP in action at Monza racetrack, just listen to that sound and shifting! Watch how fast it can go even in bad track conditions!
Truth is though , behind the wheel of car number 88 is the most successful driver in WRC history, having won the world championship a record nine times in a row, the famous and French driver;  Sebastien Loeb!

TECHNOLOGY AND CONCEPT
The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is based on the 911 series production model – a pure-bred sports car that offers an exceptional level of power and yet our engineers were able to raise it even further. How? By fighting hard for every kilogramme saved and every kilowatt added. Thanks to the weight-optimised modular racing exhaust system, the 3.8-litre flat-six engine of the new 911 GT3 Cup now produces 338 kW (460 hp). The power of the engine is transmitted to the rear axle by a racing clutch and a newly developed Porsche six-speed sequential gearbox with mechanical slip differential. The electropneumatic paddle shift system makes gear changes even faster and more efficient.

The 911 GT3 Cup is also quicker to decelerate. Fit for endurance the newly developed race brake system performs impressively and will impress rival drivers, who can now be overtaken under braking even more frequently. The stability needed is provided by the extended wheelbase – 100 mm longer than that of the predecessor – as well as the optimised chassis. [source]

Porsche 991 Turbo Unleashed

[himage]porsche_991_turbo_blue_interiorporsche_991_turbo_blue_interior[/himage]

The Porsche 911 has been with us for decades now, but just rewind 40 years back when Porsche unveiled the first 911 Turbo at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Did the Porsche superiors ever wonder what the 911 Turbo would be like 7 generations later?

With the new 991 model, the Turbo evolves into a wider more muscular car. Slighly raised and curved hips give the new Turbo a sexy look while in the back we see a clean design with with big airvents, hinting at the 918 concept design. For loyal Wild Speed followers and readers however, the 991 Turbo’s looks shouldn’t have been too much of a suprise.

[nggallery id=17]

More Powerful, yet more fuel efficient…

The all-new 911 Turbo boasts outrageously insane performance numbers. We’re talking 514 bhp for the Turbo and 552 bhp for the Turbo S, all from a new twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six petrol engine that’s more powerful, yet more fuel-efficient, than the 997’s engine.

zoom

So, you must be wondering what handles all of that fearful power, well what else but Porsche’s very own seven-speed PDK transmission. Porsche has opted for the PDK to be available in the 911 Turbo simply because it increases fuel efficiency and boosts performance by seamless gear changes. On the note of seamless gear shifts, the 911 Turbo’s acceleration is sublime, Porsche say the 911 Turbo can hit 62mph from naught in just 3.2 seconds and 3.1 seconds for the Turbo S. Keep your foot down enough and you’ll be hitting 197 mph.

[nggallery id=20]

The handling will be the golden question. Porsche has developed a four-wheel-drive system that features an electronically controlled and activated multi-plate clutch. The rear wheels can steer too for extra handling capabilities.  The Turbo S will also feature an active suspension system, active engine mounts and carbon-ceramic brakes, pushing the 911 Turbo to its extreme.

However, something very new has arrived on the 911 Turbo; Start/Stop. Yes, we all know what you’re thinking, ‘why?’. Well, a system like this seems awkward in a Porsche, but every manufacturer has to keep to very strict new emmission rules, meaning the Stuttgart engineers had to scour through a plethora of ways to increase fuel efficiency. And since you can turn the start/stop function off, it’s just a way to slightly get around the strict rules. The upside from all of this is that the 911 Turbo, unlike its predecessor, can achieve up to an EU combined fuel of 29.1 MPG, an improvement of about 16%.

The new Porsche 911 Turbo costs £118,349 for the standard model and £140,852 for the Turbo S. First customer deliveries will be in September.
