2013 Porsche 911 turbo spyshots

* Update: new spypics from WCF, new 991 headlight for Turbo partially uncovered.

Like the 996, the Turbo variant of the 991 will get different headlights. With the shape being identical to the Carrera, it will be the ‘interior’of the headlights that will give the Turbo a different look on it’s face.  The new units will feature double bulbs positioned on top of each other and it seems from these pics the quad LEDs from the 918 spyder will also return onto the 991 Turbo.

Wearing minimal camouflage, the prototype appears virtually production ready. The overall design stays pretty faithful to the current model, but there’s a revised front fascia, larger air intakes and a new four-tailpipe exhaust system. Engine details remain elusive, but rumors suggest the car will have a turbocharged flat-six with approximately 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp). It will be connected to a seven-speed manual or an optional PDK transmission, which should ensure this is one of the world’s fastest convertibles. Stay tuned for more soon.

Action spyshots: Lamborghini Aventador roadster

Being at the right place at the right time, something all spyphotographers need to be in some way.
This spyguy was definitely at the right place, yet again in the snow, when an Aventador testing vehicle approached the intersection,  to snap some spyshots.

What he caught is not the regular hardtop Aventador but a prototype for the Aventador roadster at the a time the testdriver lost control and skidded through the intersection and crashed into a snowbank. Looks as if the driver might have been distracted by the spy paparazzi before it happened.

The testdriver walked away unharmed but definitely not untempered as he “leaped out of the car, nearly falling down in the process, and came at our photographer in a fairly aggressive manner,” according to CarPix. In the end the driver scooped out the snow from the Lambo and realized nothing serious had happened, gave the cameraman a nice thumbs up to then continue his testing journey.

SLS AMG Black Series winter testing

Lot’s of sportscars from mostly German manufacturers are often spotted testing in cold winter scenes.

The already crazy and powerful Mercedes SLS AMG will receive even more power from the Black Series treatment to literally rip the tarmac from the surface with a rumoured 600 hp and 677 Nm of torque. To stop and control all this power the car is fitted with massive high-performance brakes  and larger rear wheels which hint at some changes to the rear axle.

A wider body and a more agressive front and rear fascia will set the looks to match with the performance. However, it seems the prototype in these pictures isn’t wearing it’s full production kit.

Expected to launch as a 2013 model later this year with a pricetag rumored to start at €260,000.
