BMW M3 & M4 Individual Program

BMW has revealed their Individual program for the 2014 BMW M3 & M4 soon to be revealed at the Detroit Motor Show next month.BMW has previewed its Individual program for the 2014 BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe that will be revealed at the Detroit Motor Show next month.

If you don’t fancy any of the colours that the two Bimmers come with, why not an Azurite Black exterior paint job or the M3’s cinnamon leather interior and metal accents? The choice is yours.

BMW M3 & M4: Meet The Legends

The long awaited BMW M3 and M4 have now been revealed in their production form. Do they still carry the spark that M cars have portrayed in the past few years? Well, let’s find out shall we.

  • It’s stupendously fast

  • Looks the part

  • Improvement to predecessor

  • Ready to eat up rivals

PERFORMANCE

First thing that springs to mind when you think of M Cars is Performance. So how do these ‘new kids on the block’ stack up?

The all-new 2014 BMW M3 and M4 is lighter, feistier and aggressive  in the way it delivers its power. The M3 features a 3.0-liter twin turbo inline-six which produces a maximum output of 425-hp  and 550Nm of torque to haul this mega power. Combine 425hp with 80kg less weight (thanks to some lightweight materials such as carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic) and a dual clutch gearbox, this will allow you to hit 60mph in 4.1 seconds. Astonishingly fast? We think so.

Compared to the old 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8, the new 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six consumes 25 perfect less fuel and 25 percent less emissions than its predecessor (E92).

If you opt for the dual-clutch gearbox in the M3/M4, you’ll also get a Launch Control feature integrated in to the gearbox and… Wait for it… ‘Smoky Burnout’ mode. Yes, before you think dafuq, this is a system which will allow you to have the most perfect burnouts every time.

It’s funny actually, people nowadays complain about gimmicky-electronically-controlled-nannies but in reality, all they’re trying to do is help you. Smoky Burnout mode is for the veteran clutch fryers out there.

EXTERIOR

BMW has ensured to accentuate the new M3 and M4 from their rivals from Mercedes-Benz and Audi. The M3 and M4 are hugely more aggressive than their rivals (although much can’t be said for the next-gen C63 AMG). The M3 and M4 both display a muscular and low stance on the road. The new models have really got their mojo back. The E92 was a bit soft, a bit hard to tell apart from a regular M Sport 3-Series to the untrained eye but these two, woah.

We can talk about its swooping lines, low splitter, spoiler, blah, but we’d rather just let you drool over them because BMW has finally hit the sweet-spot of many automotive enthusiasts around the world.

INTERIOR

The cabins of these two ‘monsters’, are very driver focused. The interior features sexy carbon-fibre trim and an abundance of ‘M’ badges which hints out to what you’re driving. The seats look incredibly sporty, the sporty sort that can hug you in corner after corner of hard cornering. This is what the old (E92) M3’s interior should’ve been.

WILL IT BE A PROPER M CAR?

Well why not? It features all the right ingredients of M Cars over the past few years; the M4 and M3 are a step forward into the evolution of BMW M. If this is how BMW’s M-Division will be evolving over the next few years, then we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in the pipeline.

BMW 4 Series Cabrio Almost Ready

_MG_6765

Since the reveal of the F32 4 Series Coupe, it’s no surprise BMW has decided to drop a lot of camouflage off the 4 Series Convertible, almost fully revealing itself. As with its predecessor, the E93 3 Series Convertible, the F33 4 Series Convertible will feature a full metal folding roof.

The 4 Series Convertible will be sharing the same engines and transmissions as the F32 Coupe along with its design cues. The only thing that the F32 and F33 does not share in common, is the roof-lines (the F33 being quite traditional in its design and the F32 Coupe being quite sloped and fastback-like).

Expect production of the 4 Series Convertible to begin later this year around November 2013.

Caught Testing: BMW 435i M Sport Prototype

bmw_435i_m_sport

BMW have been quite busy lately testing cars back-to-back at the Nurburgring, which now includes some more testing of the BMW 435i M Sport. However, not much has been revealed in these photos but it has envisioned how it will perform on a track.

[nggallery id= 13]

The 435i M Sport you see here is in Estoril Blue II. Unfortunately, the M Sport bumpers remain under camouflage so it’s not 100% clear on the changes. The headlights have had a slight overhaul too, they now feature optional full LED headlights with squared-off corona rings. M Sport brakes are fitted on this model but the M Sport wheels are not

Caught Testing: BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe (F36)

Since BMW has designated the 3 Series Coupe as the 4 Series, BMW have decided to broaden each sector with different variants. In this case, the 4 Series will be coming as a Coupe, Cabriolet, a X4 Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) and a 4 Door Coupe not to mention a M4 Gran Coupe could be well underway.

BMW are taking a gamble walking towards the niche market but with Mercedes-Benz and Audi already settled and stable within it, BMW have no other choice but to pit the 4 Series Gran Coupe against them to keep up with rivalry and to ensure they come out superior.

[nggallery id=4]

Theoretically, powertrains will most probably be carried over from the 3 Series to the 4 Series line, so the 428i will feature a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that will produce 240-hp and 255 lb-ft of torque. The 435i will feature a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine that’ll output 300-hp.

In the video above the model most probably being tested is the 435i from its distinctive sounds which are somewhat reminiscent of the BMW E46 M3. The clear and raspy sound that the engine outputs indicates BMW are mixing new and old flavour to create one quality product.

[nggallery id=5]

Being tested on the Nurburgring, the 4 Series Gran Coupe is really put through its paces by a professional driver. Each corner is rendered seamless to the 4 Series Gran Coupe, proving that BMW have once again created a quality product. The engine sounds sweet, the car seems to handle incredibly well for its size and without its disguise, we have faith it’ll look the part!

BMW_4_Series_Gran_Coupe_Interior

The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe’s interior is part derived from the 6 Series Gran Coupe and 3 Series. It features a center divided console leaning towards the driver like the 6 Series Gran Coupe and the dashboard from a 3 Series.

All in all, the new 4 Series Gran Coupe will definitely be a success, combining the 6 Series Gran Coupe’s lines and quality, and the 3 Series’ performance. Mercedes and Audi will have to ensure the CLA and A5 Sportback is cut for the job to stay on top of the new 4 Series Gran Coupe.
