Toyota Supra regenerated?

Earlier this year we learned that BMW and Toyota were going on a joint venture for some of their future models. The Toyota Supra comes to mind. A thought that sounds very promising indeed.

For now it seemed we could only speculate what this joint venture would bring us,  time would tell and it seems it will. Supra fans ought to be delighted as a few high-level Toyota executives have spoken openly at the Tokyo Motor Show and admitted that the company plans to”shock the world” for this year’s Detroit show with a car  that previews a potential successor to the Supra.

The following teaser image sparkes the speculation of a new Supra to a new level. Will the Nissan GTR get a worthy new competitor soon? We sure hope so.

It seems this shadowy teaser of a new coupe concept is a sportscoupe Toyota has designed for Sony Entertainment’s popular Gran Turismo 6.

The concept would join Mercedes AMG’s retro-futuristic concept as part  which sees carmakers collaborating with Polyphony Digital on special models for the new game. If Toyota is really planning a successor to the Supra, this teaser concept has the right proportions to show us the first glance at a new gen Supra quite soon at next month’s Detroit Auto Show. And if we may speculate about what it could look like; a bigger GT86 with Lexus LF-LC design influences.
