Camouflage peeled from 2013 S-Class (w222)

The S-class has almost completed testing and will be revealing sometime later this year. The renderings shown
below are shaped based on these two spyphotos to give an impression on the final production model.

Spyshots: 2013 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The inside of the headlights of the new S-class will fit the current Mercedes headlight styling. Similar to those on the new SL, ML and A-class.
The rear shaped up like an evolved S-class look with CL inspired rearlights.

2013 BMW 7 Series LCI previewed

The BMW F01, the fifth generation 7 Series has been driving around since 2008. And now after a lot of testing, a refreshment is imminent and expected by the end of this month.

What we see here, is pretty much what seems to be hiding be underneath camouflage tape from some recent spy photos. Most of the subtle refresh changes will be to the front fascia. Full LED headlights will come to the 7 series for the first time and the side indicators have moved to the mirrors. It will receive a more aggressive lower front fascia, with more pronounced and longer splitter fins on the lower lip, and we think there will be air curtains vents integrated into the bumper, as the spy photos indicate.

Porsche testing with 918 Spyder

It has been 2 years since Porsche stunned the world with the 918 spyder concept at the Autosalon in Geneve 2010. Porsche has already confirmed the green light for the production of the revolutional hybrid supercar. And we’ve already seen some test reports with the 918 spyder driving around at the Nardo high-speed test track in southern Italy. It looked like a mobile laboratory with chopped up 911 bodyparts and fat bundles of wires.

Finally in these new photo’s we can see Porsche testing the 918 spyder with a great deal of the production bodywork showing and theres a few thing that immediately catch the eye.

At first sight the overall design looks pretty much the same, however on the side we can see the exhaust pipes that used to be on the concept model are now gone, as well as the camera mirrors. If you look closely you can see there’s also a new air-inlet right behind the front wheel. As previously reported because of the hybrid technology underneath the body there is a radical new exhaust system for the production version of the 918 Spyder.

The new location for the exhaust is clearly visible from these photo’s and they’re right behind the passengers seats!! We also see what looks like a fixed wing on these pictures, but it is most likely the active aero wing retracted.

The deadline for the Porsche 918 Spyder production version debut is scheduled in november 2013. It will carry a price tag of a €750.000.

Porsche Macan spied for the first time

The project was known as the Cajun until February when Porsche announced the new name and said that it is “derived from the Indonesian word for tiger and combines suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics.”  The Porsche Macan will extend the range of cashcows for the carbrand.

The Macan rides on the same platform as the Audi Q5 and will be built at the expanded Porsche plant in Leipzig, Germany. Power will come from engines delivered by Audi, both petrol and diesel, also to be worked over by Porsche, giving it with higher power figures then the Q5. The Macan will most likely be offered with the Hybrid-drivetrain known from the Q5, meaning a 2.0 TFSI delivering 210 horsepower combined with a 44 HP electric motor. That will help Porsche to come closer to the average CO2 goal of 130 g/km that all car manufacturers need to reach from 2015. This means it will use a four-cylinder engine, a Porsche first since the 968 went out of production.

Don’t be fooled by the ugly camouflage. Differentiating it from the Cayenne, the Macan will get quite a smooth design, no creases on the hood, a sloped back and longer overhangs. The Porsche Macan will be launched with four doors initially, but we are hearing rumors that a little later on there could be a sportier looking two door version as well.
